Journalists Tool Up for the Networked Economy
December 5, 2007
Many thanks to Josh Hallett (and he’s so great at enlivening his blog with photos) for surfacing what journalists need in the Network Economy:
“Journalists who can flourish in both the Web newsroom and the print newsroom today:
- Can package the news online.
- Can create original multimedia.
- Have solid journalism credentials.
- Have strong technical skills.”
Some of these skills may be applicable to your job as well. “Strong technical skills” resonated with me; I’m beginning to need those as a marketer.
To sharpen those skills, I learn by doing (just added two widgets to this blog) and join groups full of people smart in technology and its use, like the Atlanta Web Entrepreneurs and the Future of Web Apps (FOWA) Show, next February in Miami.
Thanks to Drupal expert Mike Schinkel in both cases.
Enjoy the widgets.
